Tian Tan Buddha, also known as the Big Buddha, is a large bronze statue of Buddha Shakyamuni, completed in 1993, and located at Ngong Ping, Lantau Island, in Hong Kong.The Buddha statue faces north towards Mainland China. It sits 26.4 metres atop a lotus throne and is 34 metres high, including the base. The statue cost HK$60 million.
